I recently had the pleasure of a lovely little parcel in the mail from Cherry Cosmetics to review (and I’ve taken WAY too long to blog about it due to my wrist injury- bad blogger, BAD BLOGGER!)
I received their Mineral Foundation in “Porcelain”, Mineral Lipstick in “Sultry”, and their Pressed Eyeshadow Quad in “Natural Beauty”.
My first stop was the eyeshadows. I had a Bollywood party to attend that weekend, and I absolutely adore the beautiful dark eye makeup design of those stunning bollywood screen sirens so I went hell for leather on a glamorous smoky eye.
The Cherry Cosmetics pressed shadow quad was PERFECT! The pigmentation is good, the colours beautifully complement darker and olive skin tones like mine, but the real selling point of these are the staying power! They did not budge for hours, very impressive and durable for a night out.
The next was the mineral lipstick. I used this on a client of mine with beautiful pale skin, and it comes out a very rich, warm brick red with a slightly golden shimmer that is absolutely perfect and a very authentic shade for 1940′s style pin-up makeup. It’s very high pigment, opaque and has beautiful solid coverage.

Unfortunately I was too dark for the beautiful mineral foundation but I have been using it in my kit on makeup clients, it has a beautiful velvety soft matte finish and works perfectly over a liquid foundation to set the overall look. Most recently I have used it on the beautiful Memphis Black, whose lovely porcelain skin was perfect for such a pale shade.
The best part about Cherry Cosmetics is they are 100% Australian, family owned and operated, cruelty-free and the majority of their products are vegan.
They contain NO palm oil (find out why this is important here), donate a percentage of sales to the Orangutan Project, are also supporters of the Painted Dog Conservation, so you know these products are coming from genuinely passionate animal rights supporters. The fact that a small business in this tough economic climate and cut-throat cosmetics industry is still committed to donating a percentage of their profits is amazing.
Not only that, they ship worldwide and offer a discount for makeup artists!
You can check out the full range of products at their website and also find them on Facebook.

Gorgeous!
